Pastor Lee Kuhns
Religion Teacher

Pastor Kuhns was born by the power of the Holy Spirit into Christ’s death and resurrection through the sacrament of Holy Baptism in January 1962 at Church of the Rock Lutheran in Quincy, MA.  He enjoys being a son and heir of the one true God and lives in his God-given baptismal grace each day. During his teen years in San Diego, he participated in Senior Luther League at Good Shepherd Lutheran.  He was confirmed in his baptismal faith on February 15, 1976.
Upon graduation from high school, Pastor Kuhns joined the U.S. Marine Corps and ultimately obtained the rank of Sergeant and an honorable discharge after six years of service.  He attended and graduated with a BA in Theological Studies from Christ College, Irvine (now Concordia University, Irvine).
The Lord blessed Pastor Kuhns with 23 years of marriage to Donna Bourne (his college sweetheart) before crowning her with eternal glory in 2008.
Pastor Kuhns met and fell in love with his wife Pam Waack at Redeemer by the Sea Lutheran Church in Carlsbad, CA.  They were joined in marriage on April 17, 2010.  They live with Marshamellow, a rambunctious terrier-mix.  Pam and Lee, enjoy God’s creation by hiking, jogging, bicycling, and golfing.  They enjoy God’s gift of everlasting life through Word and Sacrament.
Pastor Kuhns received his Master of Divinity in June of 2013 from Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary (Tacoma, WA). During his studies at seminary, he was honored to concurrently serve four years of vicarage at Immanuel Lutheran in Orange, CA. He was ordained and installed in September 2014 at Faith Lutheran in El Campo, TX where he served until November 2019. He humbly accepted the call to Peace Lutheran Church & School and was installed in April 2020.
